Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller had a lot of fun this summer. Winning the Super Bowl will do that for you. But Von Miller didn’t just go to Disney World, he celebrated “the summer of Von.” On 60 Minutes Sports veteran journalist Armen Keteyian catches up with the hard-hitting linebacker to talk about his joys, his hobbies, his dancing and his bank account. Given his recent contract, it’s surprising Keteyian can fit it all in — Miller’s bank account alone is like a weekend blockbuster. In July Miller signed the most lucrative contract for a non-quarterback in the history of the NFL, six years for $114.5 million. That’s a wallop like Miller delivers on the field. He’d threatened to possibly sit out the season unless the contract deal got favorable fast, proving yet again that you don’t challenge Miller and walk away without a cost. Ask the Panthers, or the Broncos. Miller’s contract threat moved the guaranteed portion of the contract from $40 million to $70 million.
Here’s a look at how Miller negotiated:

To add to the “summer of Von”, Miller decided to spend some of the off-season competing on Dancing with the Stars, where his style — if not his skill — was undeniable. Often called a “rare bird” Miller probably appreciates the description more than most, since he’s something of a bird man himself. Keteyian, in exploring Miller’s unique world, gets a look at his chicken coop. A rooster named Peyton lives there. It’s not clear whether the rooster has a surname, or if so, if it’s Manning.
