Felix Lloyd and Jordan Lloyd Bookey are the married teachers behind ZooBean. The company started out curating children’s books. Subscribers would input which books their children enjoyed reading and then ZooBean would deliver a different book each month based on the child’s reading level. The Lloyds pitched ZooBean on Shark Tank in 2014 and got an $250,000 investment from Mark Cuban.

ZooBean has changed a lot since the show. ZooBean has become Beanstack, an app “built from the ground up just for libraries.” Beanstack is working with more than 140 libraries in the US and Canada to help librarians showcase their favorite books and to connect with their communities by reminding patrons of local events. Cuban helped pave the way for Beanstack in the Dallas Library system.
