On The Odd Couple episode “Oscar’s Overture,” Oscar (Matthew Perry) tries to impress Charlotte (Teri Hatcher) by buying a table at a New York Philharmonic fundraiser even though he doesn’t enjoy classical music. At the event, Teddy (Wendell Pierce) introduces his co-worker Dani (Yvette Nicole Brown) to his wife Diane for the first time. Teddy and Dani have been working together for three years…and Teddy has never mentioned to his wife that Dani is a woman.
Diane is portrayed Sheryl Underwood. She’s known as a comedian (she won BET’s Funniest Female Comedian on Comic View in 1994) and is currently a host on CBS’s The Talk. As an actress, Underwood is known for her roles in the films Beauty Shop (Catfish Rita), I Got the Hook Up (Bad Mouth Bessie), and Bulworth (the woman in Frankie’s). The Odd Couple airs Mondays at 9:30pm on CBS.
