The Lifetime TV movie A Mother Betrayed is about young widow named Monica. She never thought she’d get over losing her husband Jonathan who was killed in a car accident. And she doesn’t think any man would be interested in her – being a single mother and workaholic architect. That is, until she meets “the perfect man”, Kevin (Adam Kaufman). They get married and Kevin adopts Monica’s daughter Maddie, “just in case something happens to you,” Kevin says. But then Monica starts to get headaches and memory lapses. Next thing she knows, she’s committed to a mental hospital. Guess who’s not so perfect after all.
Monica is portrayed by Lynn Collins. After graduating from Juilliard School of Drama and getting parts in Shakespearean plays in New York City, Collins landed roles in TV shows including Elementary, Covert Affairs (Olga Akarova), and True Blood (Dawn Green). She is also recognized for her roles in the films John Carter (Dejah Thoris), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Kayla Silverfox), The Lake House (Mona), and The Merchant of Venice. Fun fact: Collins got the 2004 Merchant of Venice role of Portia after Cate Blanchett backed out. A Mother Betrayed will premiere on Lifetime on November 15 at 9pm. It will air again on November 16 at 1am.
