CBS is reinventing the Neil Simon comedy The Odd Couple. Since the 1960s, it’s been a play, a film and Garry Marshall’s famous TV series. Matthew Perry is playing the sloppy Oscar Madison (Jack Klugman on TV; Walter Matthau on film) and Thomas Lennon is Felix Unger (Tony Randall on TV; Jack Lemmon on film). Those are huge shoes to fill.
Everyone recognizes Matthew Perry from his Friends days. But who is Lennon? He looks familiar because he’s played a number of hilarious characters including Lieutenant Jim Dangle on Reno 911! Lennon and Perry have been on the same set before. In 1994, Lennon played Randall on Friends. Randall is blackjack dealer at Caesar’s Palace who Joey believes is his identical hand twin.
