Apple had the best quarter of any company in history. Destroying the previous high held by Gazprom–the Russian natural gas company–Apple posted a record $18.04 billion profit in the quarter just reported. (Gazprom’s record quarter was $16.2 billion.)
Apple iPhones also may have outsold rival Samsung’s phones for the first time in a quarter, indicating that Apple can compete with Samsung without lowering its prices. That $18.04 billion translates into $8.3 million an hour.
