TV host Andy Cohen of Bravo’s What What Happens Live and executive producer of The Real Housewives franchise is dishing on pretty much everyone he’s interviewed in his new book, The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look at a Shallow Year. The book is inspired by The Andy Warhol Diaries. Maybe like Warhol, Cohen should have published his book posthumously.
During an interview to promote the book, the brazen 46-year-old Cohen explained his writing process: “There’s an original entry about a Britney Spears interview where I had edited myself. I went back and was like, ‘I need to put my real impressions of that day.’” And then he talked about the time he put his good friend Sarah Jessica Parker on the spot, on live national TV!, when he asked about her dating John F. Kennedy Jr. During an commercial break, after asking her about her private life, he asked SJP, “Was that OK?” Guess it was. Parker wrote a blurb for the book: “After reading this funny, intimate, candid, honest diary of a year in Andy’s life, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Is Andy Cohen…Carrie Bradshaw?” Was that a backhanded compliment?
