It’s just for today, Labor Day. Instead of showing its usual fare of post-apocalyptic horror in The Walking Dead, AMC is airing a Rambo marathon beginning at 12:30. Don’t worry, the flesh-eating zombies will be back for The Walking Dead‘s fifth season to premiere on October 12.
This showing of the Rambo film series (First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III, Rambo) isn’t random or a fluke. It’s a primer. In June, Splendid Films confirmed that Sylvester Stallone is writing the screenplay for a fifth Rambo movie (Rambo V). And yes Sly will star as John Rambo. This time Rambo goes up against a Mexican cartel. Stallone has described it as his version of No Country for Old Men.
