The now infamous flame-up between Beyonce’s sister Solange and hubby Jay Z, leaked from an elevator closed circuit camera, was staged. That’s what Beyonce’s dad says and he should know: Mathew Knowles was instrumental in managing Beyonce’s rise to fame before she jettisoned her pops for the popular hip-hop mogul Sean Carter. The senior Knowles’ revelation made PR professionals all over the country laugh knowingly. Routinely plotting to come up with “news” just like this, one top PR exec said: “You think?”
It was “something to ignite that tour,” Knowles said during an appearance on Houston’s Roula and Ryan Show. It was a “Jedi mind trick,” according to Knowles. Jedis are pretty good at the tricks, we know. Ticket sales for the Beyonce-Jay Z tour went up. (People wondered if they’d get divorced right on stage!) And here’s something you may not have known. Mathew Knowles says even “Solange’s album sales went up 200 percent.”
