Pet Plate is a company that makes and delivers healthy meals for pets. The founder of Pet Plate, Renaldo Webb, got the idea of starting his business when he was making homemade food for his dog at home in Brooklyn, New York. His pet food is so good, it’s fit for human consumption.

Dishes on the Pet Plate menu including Oven Roasted Turkey with Sweet Potato and Vegetables, and Farmhouse Beef with Sweet Potato and Vegetables. And the pre-cooked meals come in pre-portioned containers so there’s “less stress and less mess.” Webb pitched his dog food business on Shark Tank in December 2016. He went into the Tank seeking an investment of $100,000 in exchange for 10 percent equity. Alas, the MIT grad (Physics, class of 2010) didn’t get a deal. But Pet Plate continues to thrive.

Since Shark Tank, Pet Plate went from delivering meals to its 100 subscribers in New York City to shipping hundreds of boxes a week to pet parents across the country. Webb reports, “We’ve had to scale up our operation to handle the extra demand and to ship across the country, but our team has also grown to help with the additional complexity.” The product design of Pet Plate has also received a makeover and the company is always working on new flavors — and cat food! New episodes of Shark Tank air Sunday nights on ABC.
