The Modern Christmas Tree is an alternative to buying a live or artificial Christmas tree. It’s a 7.5 foot tall metal structure with built-in rings to hold ornaments. It not only collapses for easy storage but it also comes with its own storage container. The Modern Christmas Tree is $799 (with everything including 200 glass ball ornaments) or $399 without. There’s also a smaller, 6-foot version ($329 decorated; $199 undecorated). The entrepreneur behind The Modern Christmas Tree, Matt Bliss, pitched his family-run business on Shark Tank in early December 2017. He went into the Tank seeking an investment of $100,000 in exchange for 10 percent equity. Bliss made a deal with Barbara Corcoran — $100,000 for 18 percent.

Since Shark Tank, The Modern Christmas Tree has been getting ready for the 2018 holiday season. They had a photo shoot in the super modern Farnsworth House by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe outside of Chicago. And The Modern Christmas Tree has been working on its 2018 special edition Rainbow of Colors tree, which they introduced at the recent PrideFest in Denver, Colorado (see photo below).
