Grinds is an alternative to chewing tobacco. Although the product on the outside looks just like chewing tobacco tins, inside the tins of Grinds is flavored coffee grinds. It’s considered a good way to kick the habit of chewing tobacco, which contains nicotine. The two entrepreneurs behind Grinds, former college baseball players Matt Canepa and Pat Pezet, pitched the business on Shark Tank in 2013. They went into the Tank seeking a $75,000 investment in exchange for 10 percent equity. Instead they accepted $75,000 from Robert Herjavec and Daymond John for 15 percent.
