Famed value investor and avuncular Oracle of Omaha Warren Buffett is 85 years old and claims to get most of his calories from Coca-Cola. He drinks five Cokes a day, he says — and Coke also happens to be one of his signature investments. Buffett likes to invest in things he “understands” he says, and leave the next great app to the other guys. It’s worked out pretty well for the world’s third richest man. He’s celebrating by buying everybody an ice cream cone.
Because along with Coca-Cola, Warren Buffett understands fast food and ice cream. Buffet’s company Berkshire Hathaway is the sole owner of the classic American roadside brand Dairy Queen, which turns 76 this year. Dairy Queen decided to do a “free cone day” on March 15 — and most of the 6,400-plus DQ were giving out a small vanilla cone for free. If you missed it you can always just buy one. Maybe wash it down with a Coke. You might get rich and happy and live to be 85. It’s worked before.
