Neal Hoffman, a former toy executive from Cincinnati, Ohio hopes his book and plush toy, The Mensch on a Bench, will become part of the Jewish celebration, Hanukkah. He created the book and toy to teach his sons about the holiday and as a way to add a new tradition to the family. First came the story of Moshe the Mensch, who helped Judah at the temple. Next came the doll which could hold the Shamash candle and watch over the Menorah while everyone was sleeping.
The Mensch on a Bench is a creative take on the Elf on the Shelf toy that Christian parents move every night during the Christmas season while their children are sleeping. The Mensch on a Bench – the 12” doll plus book is available for $36.00.
