A man wearing festive attire – a black top hat, green vest and striped pants – is marching around the Seattle Airport. His outfit is literally loud as he has a drum strapped to his back, a harmonica at his disposal and a banjo at his hip. He takes small steps as the drum on his back is tethered to his ankles. Each step produces a bang on the drum.
As the One Man Band of Seattle, his intent is to bring joy to people waiting for their flights. It’s a nice notion but not everyone at the airport (or those on reddit watching), approve. Craig Kerr of Reddit is surprised the One Man Band’s “unsightly behavior was not considered an immediate threat to airport security.” Sharon Hodson, mother of 3, says she’s disgusted: “Look at this man playing music so late at night. Children are most likely trying to sleep and this will startle and traumatize them…This man needs to be banned from all airports and his instruments confiscated.”
