Democratic Texas State Rep. James Talarico, who’s running against Trump-endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to fill Republican U.S. Senator John Cornyn‘s seat, responded to President Trump’s recent accusations of election fraud — including his claim that China interfered with the 2020 presidential election — with a suggestion.
Talarico said: “President Trump just gave a speech about voter fraud. Someone has been committing voter fraud — and his name is Ken Paxton. He was just caught voting from the wrong address 6 elections in a row. If the President wants to investigate voter fraud, he should start with Ken Paxton.”

[NOTE: The Texas Tribune reported: “The Texas attorney general appears to have used an address where he did not live while voting in six elections in the past two years — despite his warning voters that ‘it is illegal to misrepresent your residence on election records.'”]
Paxton’s ex-wife, State Senator Angela Paxton, reported in a 2025 divorce filing (citing “biblical grounds”) that the Attorney General moved out of their Collin County home in 2024. But according to the Tribune‘s reporting, “Paxton continues to list the home’s address in the northern Dallas suburb on his voter registration.”
[NOTE: In February, Paxton created a tip line for the public to report people suspected of voter fraud, and in a press release warned that “it is illegal to misrepresent your residence on election records or to establish a residence for the purpose of influencing the outcome of an election.” The Attorney General said, “You must register to vote using the address where you reside.” Paxton also made news last week when it was revealed he had added more addresses, though not in Texas, to his real estate portfolio — see below.]
Mr. Paxton got an extension on his April federal candidate filing, so he did not disclose these purchases during his contentious primary with John Cornyn.
