Conservative political pundit Meghan McCain, who has urged President Trump to stop sending Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) as a media “surrogate” to talk about the war in Iran, on Monday criticized Vice President JD Vance as he negotiates with Iran in Switzerland, where Qatari and Pakistani leaders are serving as mediators. In between meetings, Vance told a reporter, “We love Pakistan.”
McCain, the daughter of the late U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ), wrote: “JD Vance loves Pakistan. Well, I don’t. We’re going to need more of an explanation about this coziness with America’s enemies.”
McCain described Pakistan as “people who hide Osama Bin Laden,” and said that “as a child of 9/11, [who] saw 9/11 when I turned 16 in high school, I don’t love Pakistan. I don’t know what he’s trying to do. And I don’t love axis of evil, and I think they are enemies of America.”

We're going to need more of an explanation about this coziness with America's enemies.

As seen above on her podcast, McCain’s guest, Mark Halperin, agreed with McCain’s remarks and added, “I think the Vice President in this case is doing what his job calls for, the job of any Vice President. He’s parroting his boss.”
[NOTE: In May, after Sen. Graham questioned the positioning of Pakistan as mediators, Trump praised Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and army head Asim Munir, saying: “They’re great. I think the Pakistanis have been great. The field marshal and the prime minister of Pakistan have been absolutely great.”]
Halperin added about Pakistan: “With a history of supporting terrorism, and doing stuff antithetical to American interests, I don’t want them being the negotiator, the moderators of the negotiations. So, I agree with you, it’s nuts.”
