Preseason, sure. But preternatural too, that’s what LeBron James‘s court vision is. The pass heard round the NBA world so far this year involved James drawing a crowd in the lane, rising up and tossing a no-look over the shoulder dime to spotted up Danny Green. Green, as he does, calmly knocked down the trey.
But how original was the move? Hey, James might have learned it in practice from his teammate Rajon Rondo, who knows something about finding open spot up shooters.
In fact Rondo did something just like it — and had the advantage of finding one of the few guys more reliable from deep than even the multiple NBA champion Green. Yup, Rondo in his own title days in Boston found Ray Allen with the same left handed twirl and dish, in what’s maybe even a cooler play.
