Andre Igoudala has played with some ballers. He was once the second A.I. on a 76ers team that prominently featured NBA legend Allen Iverson. But ask him about who his main guy is? Well that’s one Steph Curry, two-time NBA MVP and the greatest shooter ever to play in the NBA.
Iguodala has the credentials to claim stardom for himself, even at the advanced NBA age of 35. It was just four years ago he emerged as the NBA Finals MVP, winner of the Bill Russell Award, as the Warriors secured first of their three championships in this dynasty run. That’s right, Iguodala was the MVP of the NBA Finals, so it’s amazing to hear him say now that he thinks of himself as “security for Steph.” He says it jokingly, but with the utmost respect: Steph is that big a deal.
Iguodala paid Curry the ultimate compliment. “Steph is the reason I play basketball,” Iguodala said. “Steph Curry’s my guy… I’m gonna become the security for Steph and I don’t want nobody bothering him.”
