While Democrats on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee this week have accused the Department of Justice of withholding more than 50 pages from the Epstein files related to a claim made against President Donald Trump, Republican committee member, U.S. Congressman William Timmons (R-SC), announced on Wednesday that he’s “headed to New York to depose Hillary and Bill Clinton regarding Jeffrey Epstein.”
Timmons added, “The American people deserve complete and total transparency. Let me know your questions for the Clintons at our depositions below.”
Timmons’ post — an example of “engagement bait,” the social media tactic used to boost a post’s reach and visibility by encouraging or “baiting” users to interact through likes, shares, comments — has triggered several questions not for the Clintons but for Timmons himself including, “Are you going to depose Trump?”
Related comments also suggest Timmons look at other Epstein-related people for inquiries. “Just make sure you do the same for Donald Trump” wrote one commenter, mocking Timmons’ sentiment by adding, “Because the American people deserve complete and total transparency.”
(Note: Hillary Clinton has said she never interacted with Epstein; Trump had a long documented history with the late convicted sexual predator.)
Curious where you were last week for the deposition with Les Wexner in Ohio? As I’m sure you know, he’s the man responsible for Epstein’s vast wealth which enabled his heinous crimes against children.

The baiting technique worked, if not perhaps as Timmons intended. U.S. Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) also replied with a question for Timmons: “Curious where you were last week for the deposition with Les Wexner in Ohio? As I’m sure you know, he’s the man responsible for Epstein’s vast wealth which enabled his heinous crimes against children. Anyway, see you tomorrow.”
[NOTE: Full Epstein files transparency is not a partisan issue, with polls showing a significant majority of Americans support the exposure of those from any party who may have enabled his Epstein’s crimes.]
Ansari was one of the five House Oversight Democrats who traveled to New Albany, Ohio for the deposition of billionaire GOP donor Les Wexner, former CEO of Victoria’s Secret lingerie brand, in his home. None of the 25 Republican members of the House Oversight Committee attended the deposition including Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) who has pushed for the deposition of the Clintons.
Note: In the deposition, Wexner described Epstein as a “con man,” and described himself as “naïve, foolish, and gullible” to have trusted Epstein.
