After an American woman was fatally shot by an alleged ICE agent in Minneapolis yesterday, Lebanese-born Mohamad Safa, the Executive Director and Main Representative of the organization Patriotic Vision (PVA) at the United Nations, announced today on social media: “I cancelled my World Cup tickets. The ICE may decide that I am a gang member, and I’ll be locked in prison for a year with no charges, no hearing, no trial, no right to consult a lawyer, no phone call. The US is not safe to visit.”
He added: “A police badge is not a license to murder,” and wrote, “for the record: cops aren’t supposed to kill guilty people either.”
[NOTE: The World Cup, which will take place this summer in the U.S, Mexico and Canada, is run by FIFA, which gave its inaugural peace prize to President Trump in 2025. FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented the award, which is meant for “individuals who, through their unwavering commitment and their special actions, have helped to unite people all over the world in peace and consequently deserve a special and unique recognition.”]

The ICE may decide that I am a gang member, and I'll be locked in prison for a year with no charges, no hearing, no trial, no right to consult a lawyer, no phone call.
The US is not safe to visit.
During a long interview with the New York Times in which a video of the shooting was shown, President Trump said of the dead 37-year-old woman: “She behaved horribly, and then she ran him over.” (The video shown does not show that the agent was run over.) Trump added: “You’re supposed to listen to law enforcement.”
U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem characterized the killing as a result of an “act of domestic terrorism,” indicating that the ICE officer was acting in self-defense. Noem’s claim was refuted by witnesses. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called the shooting “totally predictable and totally preventable” and said there would be an investigation by the state.
Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL) announced that she’s filing articles of impeachment against Noem. “I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy. She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.”
Patrick Strother, CEO of Strother Communications Group in Minneapolis, replied to Safa: “Until the ICE agents get a little training, everyone should stay as far away from them as possible. Minneapolis closed their schools today and tomorrow to avoid the chaos they create everywhere they go.”
