U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) announced on Friday that she conducted a congressional oversight visit at the ICE Whipple Detention Center, reporting that she witnessed “injustices.” The congresswoman reiterated her push to “prosecute and abolish ICE.”

Omar’s comments enraged MAGA supporters, including social media influencer “Gunther Eagleman,” who asked the xAI app Grok for “the names of the congressional GOP members that are protecting Ilhan Omar from being expelled.”
Grok replied: “No current expulsion resolution for Rep. Ilhan Omar is pending or being blocked by specific GOP members. Expulsion needs a 2/3 House vote and is rare.”

Rep. Mace (R-SC) — who lost the GOP South Carolina gubernatorial primary last month — jumped into the chat and told Grok that she also “attempted to subpoena Omar and her brother husband’s [stet] immigration records in an Oversight hearing. Republicans helped block the measure (dems too).”
