Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in the U.S. Department of Justice, Jesus A. Osete, shared a copy of the complaint filed by the DOJ’s Civil Rights department against Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, on social media. Osete wrote: “@AZSecretary didn’t respond! Oh well! See you in court!”
Note: The Trump administration DOJ wants Fontes to provide private voter registration information with unredacted, sensitive information including Social Security numbers from Arizona’s voter rolls. Fontes says complying with the request would be illegal.
FYI @JesusOseteDOJ the @AZSecretary is in that seat via a fraudulent election and he is a lawyer for the Mexican Cartels.

As seen in the video below, Fontes responded to Osete’s post and said, “apparently Mr. Osete — the number two guy in the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice — hasn’t been told that we have responded to every request that the Department of Justice has made.”
Fontes added: “We refused to sign the MOU that would ask me to break state and federal law. We refused the letters in August twice, and so I would recommend that Mr. Osete read those correspondence and we will see you apparently in court. And since you’ve chosen to use Twitter here as the means of communication we will do that but since you’re not reading the letters and the refusals that we’ve already sent you, I will say it to you directly, Mr. Jesus Osete, at the Civil Rights Division of the Department Justice, again, sir, pound sand.”

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes amplified Fontes’ video and added: “Arizonans’ private voter registration information is not up for grabs. Both state and federal law prohibit the unrestricted release of Arizona’s complete voter registration database to the DOJ.”
Note: Trump’s pick to run the US Agency for Global Media, Kari Lake, who lost both the 2022 gubernatorial election and the 2024 senatorial election to Arizona Democrats Katie Hobbs and Ruben Gallego, and who contested the results of both elections, replied to Osete: “@JesusOseteDOJ the @AZSecretary is in that seat via a fraudulent election and he is a lawyer for the Mexican Cartels.”
