Gotta Have S’more is a company in Los Angeles that makes S’muffins, muffins that taste like s’mores — the treat traditionally made with graham crackers, chocolate and melted marshmallows. These handmade S’muffins consist of a graham cracker crust which is dipped in dark chocolate and topped with roasted marshmallow. The ultimate way to eat a S’muffin is when it’s warm (about 5 to 8 seconds in the microwave). The founder of Gotta Have S’more, Carmen Lindner, pitched her sweet bakery business on Shark Tank in February 2013. She went into the Tank seeking an investment of $75,000 in exchange for 25 percent equity. Alas, she left empty-handed.
One year after the Shark Tank episode aired, Lindner sold the business to Annalisa Mastroianni Johnson, owner of the L.A. soul food restaurant, Annie’s Edibles. In the first two years under Annalisa’s management, Gotta Have S’more kept the popular muffin recipe intact but had the packaging re-branded and added new flavors (Salted Pretzel Caramel Crunch) and designs including the Selfie S’more — yes, you can put a photo on top of a S’muffin!
