Bravo Tip or Pay is an app that makes tipping easier. It’s a location-based (GPS) payment app that enables users to pay or get paid without an exchange of personal information. Bravo is designed to solve the situation when you find yourself wanting to pay a musician, barber, bartender, valet, or dog walker but you don’t have cash on you. And it’s designed to solve that situation while you keep your anonymity in the transaction. The tech being employed is the hot “blockchain” technology, which you may have heard of because of Bitcoin. Learn more about bitcoin with these books, if you wish. [Download the free Bravo Tip or Pay app on iTunes]
The founders of Bravo Tip or Pay, husband and wife team Hector Rodriguez and Maria Luna Rodriguez of Phoenix, Arizona, are pitching their business on Shark Tank on November 5, to another Rodriguez – Alex Rodriguez is the guest shark (with regular sharks Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, and Daymond John). It doesn’t cost anything to receive money via Bravo, Tip or App but there is a “low cost without premiums” to send money. However, the cost is not listed on the website. The Sharks will want to know if this technology already exists in tech like Apple Pay and others. Or if there’s proprietary piece of Bravo Tip and Pay that sets it apart? It’s a little unlucky — or maybe not — that Shark Mark Cuban is taking this episode off. Shark Tank airs Sundays at 9pm and 10pm on ABC.
