Makenzie Marzluff of Phoenix, Arizona is the entrepreneur behind Delighted by Hummus, a line of hummus desserts made of chickpeas and all-natural, sweet ingredients. It’s taken two years but she’s finally appearing on Shark Tank (October 15) after first applying to the show in 2015. Time is on her side, actually. In 2015, she was still making Delighted by Hummus in her kitchen. Now Marzluff’s business is looking to hit the $5 million sales mark by the end of 2017.

Marzluff says her Shark Tank goal is to “raise smart money.” In addition to funding, she needs a Shark to help with distribution and marketing. Being first in the category, she’ll need to educate people on what dessert hummus is. And while Delighted by Hummus is available in several national chains including Whole Foods and Walmart, you can’t buy it online yet or have it shipped due to the product being refrigerated. Shark Tank airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
