The Clean Bottle is a reusable water bottle designed so both ends of the bottle can screw off making cleaning the bottle easier. The inventor of The Clean Bottle, David Mayer of Boston, Massachusetts – and his friend NBA legend Bill Walton – pitched the business on Shark Tank in 2012. After much deliberation, Mayer accepted a $60,000 investment from Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban in exchange for 8 percent equity. Mayer went into the Tank seeking $60,000 for 5 percent.
After Shark Tank, The Clean Bottle expanded its product line to include stainless steel Clean Bottles and a variety of colors and shapes (square!). The also offer customized printing on The Clean Bottle. In 2016, The Clean Bottle launched a Kickstarter campaign to make a new, bigger (32 oz) version of their square bottle that could also hold a fruit infuser or water filter. The campaign didn’t reach its goal but 2paragraphs was told by a Clean Bottle rep that “a larger 32oz bottle is in the works and will hopefully launch soon!” [Related: 27 Favorite ‘Shark Tank’ Products at Amazon — New List]
