Bitsbox is a free website developed by Scott Lininger and Aidan Chopra, two former Google employees from Boulder, Colorado. The Bitsbox business is making money by delivering monthly subscriptions – boxes packed with new programming projects every month – to help kids learn how to code apps for real devices.
Designed for kids 6-14, the Bitsbox monthly packages range from $20/month (Digital Bitsbox, no paper) to $45/month (Deluxe Bitsbox, comes with binder, toys, stickers, tattoos, trading cards). And each Bitsbox comes with a different theme (animals, robots, etc.). Bitsbox is pitching its business on Shark Tank (February 17) which airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC.
