Elizabeth Warren may be Donald Trump’s only equal in the category of vituperative tweets. The senator from Massachusetts even uses one of Trump’s favorite Twitter words a lot: she’s fond of “disgusting” too. With the GOP nomination basically in Trump’s possession now, Warren launched a fleet of digital condemnation (see below) on the Big GOP Mop. That use of “mop” to describe Trump is not a cute hair knock; Trump is cleaning up — and cleaning out — the GOP house. (Obama once fashioned himself a mop man too.)
Sen. Warren’s series of tweets excoriated Trump for racism, sexism and inciting violence — for a start. The problem for those who agree with Warren is that none of Trump’s followers also follow Warren. And none of her followers were about to vote for Trump anyway. One of the big questions of the new political age (and the new media) is this: When a tweet falls in the woods, does it make a sound?
.@realDonaldTrump incites supporters to violence, praises Putin, and is “cool with being called an authoritarian.”

Here’s what else is real: @realDonaldTrump has built his campaign on racism, sexism, and xenophobia.

There’s more enthusiasm for @realDonaldTrump among leaders of the KKK than leaders of the political party he now controls.
