David Toledo and Caleb Light of Salt Lake City, Utah are the two outdoorsy inventors behind Powerpot, a portable thermoelectric generator that can boil water and charge your phone at the same time, among other things. After selling $300,000 worth of Powerpots, Toledo and Light pitched their business on Shark Tank in 2014. They made a deal with Shark investor Mark Cuban ($250,000 for 12 percent equity and 3 percent in advisory options).
Since then, Power Practical has launched two new products including their fast-charge battery Pronto 5 ($80), and a waterproof, USB-powered LED strip Luminoodle ($20). All Power Practical products are available on the website and Amazon (see above).
