When the University of Oklahoma closed the SAE fraternity after a video emerged of frat brothers allegedly singing a racist chant, the frat’s chef lost his job. His name is Howard Dixon and he’s black. He’s been working at the frat house for 15 years.
One SAE alum, Blake Burkhart, has started a fundraising campaign “to make the best of a bad situation and give Howard some financial stability while he is forced to look for a job due to circumstances outside of his control.” So far the campaign has raised more than $40,000 of its $50,000 goal.
