How many doctors does Gatorade have? We wondered because a new post up at Business Insider is titled: “Gatorade’s Top Doctor Says You Should Do These 3 Things After Every Workout.” (Italics ours.) It’s a video post. There is no indication that it’s an ad. In it Dr. James Carter–Head of Gatorade Sports Science Institute–reveals that the trick to a good post-workout routine is the three Rs.
You might call the plan “drink and eat,” but that’s not catchy. Dr. Carter fashions his post-workout routine as the three Rs for Rehydrate (duh, it’s Gatorade’s doctor), Refuel and Recover (these two together are the eat part–carbs and protein). No word about whether Gatorade doctors #2, 3 or 4 are in complete agreement. But Gatorade’s top doctor sounds very confident in this approach.
