Prolific horror author Stephen King is excited about the release of his new novel, Fairy Tale.

The protagonist is Charlie Reade, a 17-year-old who finds another world in his neighbor’s backyard shed. The neighbor is a recluse who keeps a female German Shepherd named Radar who is with Charlie when the young man who enters the other world under the shed.
The New York Times book review of Fairy Tale points out that “much of what Charlie encounters reminds him of something else he’s seen or read. Before he meets Radar, the German shepherd is rumored to be a “monster dog,” “like Cujo in that movie.”
