It’s down to the Top 8 finalists on Season 2 of ABC’s American Idol. After the big Disney Night performance son Easter Sunday, Idol contestants wind down and try to win America’s hearts with their personal stories. On Monday, April 22, the show will air a two-hour special episode called “American Idol: Meet Your Finalists,” which will highlight new, never-before-seen-or-heard songs, stories, performances and footage from American Idol, as well as revisiting favorite moments from this season.
One of the fan favorites to win is returning contestant Laine Hardy from Louisiana. When local ABC TV station WGNO went to Laine’s Louisiana hometown (the village of French Settlement in Livingston Parish), the reporter interviewed the Mayor Toni Guitrau who said she feels like everyone in town is “caught up in the epicenter of an earthquake. It’s like he is the excitement and anticipation and it’s spreading throughout Louisiana and the whole country.” The WGNO reporter also spoke with Laine’s former shop teacher of four years, Mr. Glenn Ellis, who says the teen idol was “always playing the guitar and singing” in class.
