Stand-up comedian Bob Saget was the original host of America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997. Or maybe you remember him as Danny Tanner on the popular sitcom Full House (see below) that launched the careers of the Olsen twins, and its Neflix sequel Fuller House. Now Saget’s the host of the spin-off Videos After Dark, “a comedy reality series that features home videos with an edgier twist.” People who are intoxicated are caught doing stupid and/or hilarious things. While there are “Animals all over the place,” says Saget, there is also a great amount of “human foibles” to share.
The 6’4” comedian/actor/TV host remarried in October 2018. His wife’s name is Kelly Rizzo. Rizzo is an accomplished food and travel blogger (Eat Travel Rock) and, in 2017, she was named “Travel Queen” by Modern Luxury’s Michigan Avenue Magazine for her jet-setting career. She is 23 years younger than Saget.
Their wedding ceremony was officiated by actor Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie’s, Brighton Beach Memoirs). And yes, the Fuller House cast was in attendance for Saget’s big day. Oh, and Saget’s friend, musician John Mayer sang “A Face to Call Home” at the reception. We’d love to see bloopers from the Saget wedding but that’s highly unlikely. Videos After Dark airs Tuesdays at 10 pm on ABC. [Stream any ABC show through the ABC GO Digital App found here. Download is FREE.]
