Retired NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, who — among other legendary feats — once scored 81 points in an NBA basketball game, doesn’t lack for business opportunities. Bryant has been all Hollywood since he left Lower Merion, PA, after high school, and besides his basketball riches he’s a renaissance man when it comes to business. Bryant recently released the start of his Wizenard book series, which teaches kids and adults the magic secrets of the “Mamba Mentality.”
Oh and Kobe won an Academy Award — yup, an Oscar — for best animated short film in 2018. Kobe Bryant is a movie producer, a writer, a highly-paid motivational speaker, he’s got a big Nike deal, he’s got a sports drink, he’s got… well how much time do we have? Kobe Bryant has the world at his finger tips. He’s even about to become a dad again! The man has been blessed.
But Kobe’s astute business sense understands that the grooming business is among the most lucrative sectors in the world. It’s all about product that people use habitually, over and over. It’s a revenue dream if your product gets traction. Kobe, who has long been friends with the Jenner/Kardashian crew (see him hug Caitlin Jenner here at the Oscars 2019), definitely noted Kylie Jenner’s rapid rise onto this year’s Forbes list of the world’s richest people. Revenue from Kylie’s cosmetics line made the young model, beauty entrepreneur and influencer the youngest “self-made” billionaire on record. In other words, Kylie Jenner moved some major product in the last couple of years and anyone with an investment portfolio took notice.
That means Kobe. On February 22, Bryant told his 14 million Twitter followers to “upgrade your skincare game” — alerting people to the ART OF SPORT brand he created. (See above.) Like most games Kobe plays, this game invites everyone to play but Kobe wins — the brand is getting nearly all five star reviews on Amazon. Now that’s Mamba. Still he has a way to go to get to Kylie’s level; she has 128 million followers on Instagram. See Kylie below. Houston Rockets star James Harden is in on the Art of Sport too.
