In the Teen Mom 2 episode “Cry It Out,” the cameras follow Briana de Jesus in Kissimmee, Florida. When she noticed that her one-year-old baby daughter Stella was having trouble moving her arm, she brought her to the hospital. Turns out she had “a serious bacterial infection and had to have emergency surgery.” Stella is doing well but she had to stay in the hospital for a few days afterward. With Briana’s sister Brittany out of town, she had to rely on her mother Roxanne to watch older daughter Nova.
On Teen Mom 2, by phone Roxanne explains to Brittany that what Stella has is called septic arthritis. The infection was in the joint of her left shoulder. Stella is on antibiotics and she’s going to be on them for a while, “a month or two.” Teen Mom 2 airs Mondays at 9 pm on MTV.
