Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer (The Help) attended the 91st Academy Awards ceremony on February 24, 2019. Spencer knows the territory, having also been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her roles in The Shape of Water in 2018 and Hidden Figures in 2017. This year Spencer graced the Oscar stage as an executive producer of Green Book which won the Best Picture Oscar.
For the formal event, Spencer wore a stunning blue ball gown designed by Christian Siriano and jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz (dangling diamond, emerald and sapphire earrings, and a giant emerald ring). One day after the Oscars, Spencer gave thanks to her fashion entourage before she “gives back the diamond slippers,” a reference to Cinderella (see photo below).

And with that, awards season is over and Cindarelly is a pumpkin again. But before I give back the diamond slippers, many thanks: @missvalnoble @davestanwell @wendiandnicole @laurabasci @tylerellisofficial @lorraineSchwartz @csiriano for making it magical. #Oscars2019 fun fact: that tiny piece of cloth you see peeping out from my purse is the pocket square that we all had last year for #ShapeOfWater made from Elisa’s wall paper pattern. #GreenBookGreenisAlsoSOWblue #bringYourOwnLuck
If you want to see more of Spencer this week, go to the movie theaters and see her in the horror thriller Ma, and/or tune into black-ish this week, she’s appearing as herself in the episode “Black History Month,” which airs February 26 at 9 pm on NBC.
