In the new sitcom FAM, newly engaged young couple, Clem (Nina Dobrev) and Nick (Tone Bell), are surprised to see Clem’s 16-year-old half-sister Shannon (Odessa Adlon) in their apartment. She’s a wild one and needs a place to stay after leaving their “train wreck of a dad” Freddy. Freddy is a police officer who rocks the NYPD Sipowicz look (short sleeve collared shirt with tie, mustache) and spends a lot of time at the OTB.
Freddy is portrayed by Gary Cole. He’s known for his roles on Chicago Fire (Chief Grissom), The Good Wife and The Good Fight (Kurt McVeigh), Veep (Kent Davison), Suits (Cameron Dennis), Entourage (Andrew Klein), The West Wing (VP Bob Russell), and Midnight Caller (Jack “Nighthawk” Killian), among many others.
Cole is also well recognized for his roles in a variety of films including Talladega Nights (Ricky Bobby’s deadbeat dad Reese Bobby), Dodgeball (Cotton McKnight), Office Space (boorish boss Bill Lumbergh, SEE HILARIOUS LINK ABOVE), A Simple Plan (Baxter), and The Brady Bunch Movie (Mike Brady). FAM airs Thursdays at 9:30 pm on CBS, right after Mom and right before S.W.A.T.
