In the 200th episode of Hawaii Five-0, “Pua a’e la ka uwahi o ka moe” (translated “The Smoke Seen in the Dream Now Rises”), McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) investigates a cold case from the 1940s. It was a case that stumped his late World War II hero grandfather and his best friend, retired Honolulu P.D. Detective Milton Cooper (guest star Richard Herd). When Milton gives McGarrett his attache of clues, McGarrett dives into the past and meets a tough guy named William Pettifer.
William Pettifer is portrayed by actor Chris Mulkey. He’s known for his roles in the films Gotti (Frank DeCicco), Whiplash (Uncle Frank), Gas, Food Lodging (Raymond), and on the TV shows Boardwalk Empire (Boss Frank Hauge), Friday Night Lights (Coach Bill McGregor, SEE LINK ABOVE), Any Day Now (Annie Potts’ husband Colliar Sims), and Twin Peaks (Hank Jennings), among many others.
