Gotham writer/actor Ben McKenzie is putting himself on trial in the 100th episode of Gotham, the beloved Batman prequel that has said Season 5 will be its last. (Good luck with getting the fans to agree, Gotham producers! Something tells us there will be petitions and protests… bring back Gotham!) Anyway, the series is rolling on in style while it lasts and its getting even more intimate. The aforementioned McKenzie has written the “truly beautiful” script for the 100th episode entitled “The Trial of Jim Gordon.” The coolest part? McKenzie plays Jim Gordon — as all Gotham fans know.
Continuing with the intimate all-hands-in feel, the episode will be directed by none other than Gotham star Erin Richards. Richards plays the wealthy, beautiful, former art gallery owner Barbara Kean — who just happens to be Jim Gordon’s ex-fiance. “The Trial of Jim Gordon” will be the final episode of the show, the coda to Gotham season 5, which has just 12 episodes. Gotham Season 5 premieres in January 2019. Gotham airs Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
