In the Hallmark Movie Love, of Course, single mom Amy (Kelly Rutherford, Gossip Girl) drives her adorable and sweet daughter Cara (Makenzie Vega, The Good Wife) to a picturesque college in Oregon. While Amy stays a bit longer than she anticipated — to help plan the Harvest Festival on campus with gorgeous college professor Noah (Cameron Mathison) — Cara befriends fellow co-ed Maddy.

Maddy is portrayed by Gabby Douglas. Yes, the Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast. Although the 22-year-old elite athlete never went to college, she says she enjoyed playing “the fun, the bubbly, hip college girl.”
You can see Douglas next on the big screen in the movie What Men Want starring Taraji P. Henson (Empire) as a female sports agent in a male-dominated industry. It’s a woman’s take on the 2000 Mel Gibson movie What Women Want, and it will be in theaters in January 2019. Love, of Course premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, October 20 at 8 pm.
