In the Chicago Fire episode “This Isn’t Charity,” Firehouse 51 is on high alert when a series of explosions rock the city. Meanwhile, Herrmann (David Eigenberg) adjusts to his new duties, Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) gets a visit from an old friend, and Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) meets a young man named Tyler at the firehouse.
Tyler is portrayed by Justin Cornwell. The 6’4” tall Shakespearian-trained actor is known for his role as rookie Detective Kyle Craig in the TV series Training Day with the late Bill Paxton who played his partner, corrupt cop Det. Frank Rourke. (See photo below.) Cornwell will appear next in the TNT series I Am the Night with Chris Pine (Star Trek, A Wrinkle in Time); directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster, Wonder Woman). Chicago Fire airs at 9 pm on NBC, right after Chicago Med and right before Chicago P.D.

Bill Paxton was my mentor, friend and a damn fine man. We went on a ton of adventures and for an entire year spent almost everyday together. He was the nicest person in Hollywood. There will never be another, but he lives on through his family and through the many people who’s lives were changed because of this angels time on earth. My life and career will be a testament to the goodness and love of this man. R.I.P my friend, love you Bill.
