In the S.W.A.T. episode “Patrol,” while the SWAT team works as patrol officers for a day, Hondo (Shemar Moore) meets his half-sister Briana Harrleson at their father’s (Obba Babatunde) house. When Hondo arrives, he’s surprised the house isn’t packed up. Hondo and Briana convinced their father to move to Los Angeles to live with Briana, who is an art curator at the famous Getty Museum. But according to Briana, “Pops changed his mind.” It’s a difficult situation on many levels. Daniel Sr. has MG, Myasthenia Gravis, a weakness and rapid fatigue of muscles that can make breathing difficult and can cause double vision. He can no longer live on his own.
Hondo’s sister Briana Harrleson is portrayed by Gabrielle Dennis. She’s known for her roles on Luke Cage (Tilda), HBO’s Insecure (Candice), Rosewood (Pippy Rosewood), Justified (Gloria), The Game (Janay), Blue Mountain State (Denise Roy), and My Name Is Earl (Sassy Black), among others. You can see Dennis next in The Bobby Brown Story as Whitney Houston in September 2018. Woody McClain plays Brown, as he did in The New Edition Story. S.W.A.T. airs Thursdays at 10pm on CBS, right after Life in Pieces.
