In the Grey’s Anatomy episode “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper,” Chief of Surgery Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) is stressed out. So much so that she checks herself into a hospital because she thinks she’s having a heart attack. While in her hospital bed, she tells her colleagues who come to visit her, “I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let a blocked artery take me down.” Also during this episode, we meet Morgan.
Morgan is portrayed by Amy Landecker. Landecker is known for her TV roles on Transparent (Sarah Pfefferman), Louie (Louie’s mom Sandra), Revenge (Dr. Michelle Banks), and The Paul Reiser Show (Claire), among others. Landecker launched her acting career on stage in Chicago, and then moved to New York for Tracy Letts’ Obie-winning play “Bug.” She’s also recognized for her role as Mrs. Samsky in the 2009 Coen Brothers film A Serious Man. Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8pm on ABC, right before Scandal.
