In the Lifetime movie Bad Stepmother, two rich kids return to their family estate in New Orleans after their father’s sudden death. He “fell” at home while with his new wife Louise. When the adult children Verity (Sofia Vassilieva) and Jonathan (Dave Davis) return, their stepmother tells them they’re always welcome in the home. “We’re family now,” she says but she doesn’t really mean it. Louise is determined to get their inheritance and she’s willing to kill them in order to get it.
Bad Stepmother Louise is portrayed by Kristy Swanson. Swanson is known for her roles on Psych (Marlowe Viccellio), Knots Landing (Jody Campbell), and in the films Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Buffy, see link above), Dude, Where’s My Car? (Christie Boner), Adam Sandler’s Big Daddy (Vanessa), Flowers in the Attic (Cathy), and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (Simone Adamley), among others. Fun fact about Swanson: She’s married to two-time Olympic Bronze medalist, Canadian hockey player Lloyd Eisler. Bad Stepmother premieres on Lifetime Movies on Friday, January 12 at 8pm.
