In The Goldbergs episode “The Hooters,” while Erica (Hayley Orrantia) wants to attend a Phillip Glass concert, Adam (Sean Giambrone) tries to be funny in class. Both storylines take unexpected turns. While at school, during woodshop class, Adam’s antics distract woodshop teacher Mr. Crosby who nearly injures himself. While Murray (Jeff Garlin) grounds Adam, the family is treated to a special appearance by the 1980s band Hooters.
Mr. Crosby is portrayed by Clancy Brown. He’s known for his roles on Sleepy Hollow (Sheriff August Corbin), The Flash (General Wade Eiling), ER (Dr. Ellis West), and in the films Dead Man Walking (State Trooper), The Shawshank Redemption (Captain Hadley, see link above), Pet Sematary 2 (Gus Gilbert), Starship Troopers (Sgt. Zim), and Bad Boys (Viking Lofgren), among others. Brown is also a prolific voice actor (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob Squarepants, et al.). The Goldbergs airs Wednesdays at 8pm on ABC, right before Speechless.
