It’s that time of year when people brave the wintery winds to stand outside and watch the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. NBC Today anchors Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker will co-host as former The Voice coach Gwen Stefani sings “White Christmas” and Miss Patti LaBelle rides on The Cranberry Cooperative by Ocean Spray float. Keep an eye out for Thalía, who NBC says will “dance and sing in an “out-of-this-world kick-off to the pomp and pageantry.”
Thalía (born Ariadna Thalía Sodi Miranda in Mexico City) is one of the most successful and influential Mexican singers today. She’s known as the “Queen of Latin Pop” and has sold more than 25 million records worldwide. Thalia can act too, and is well compensated for it. Televisa says she’s the best-paid telenovela actress in history. In 2013 she was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In December she will celebrate her 17th wedding anniversary with music executive Tommy Mottola, ex-husband of Mariah Carey (1993-1998). Thalía, 46, and Mottola, 68, are the parents of two children, a ten year old daughter and a six-year-old son. ) Family photos below.) Thalia’s latest album, her 13th, is Latina which was released in 2016 (see link above). The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air on Thursday at 9pm on NBC.
