In the TV movie “The Christmas Train,” journalist Tom Langdon (Dermot Mulroney) is a taking the long way home — a train from D.C. to L.A. Time on the train forces Tom to slow down and reflect. It lets him look at life through another lens. While in a pensive mood on the train, Tom bumps into his ex-girlfriend Eleanor, who he says walked out on him. She’s surprised to hear that’s how he remembers it. But that was “a lifetime ago” ago and now that they’re older and wiser, they give each other a second chance.
Eleanor is portrayed by Kimberly Williams-Paisley. She’s known for her roles on Two and a Half Men (Gretchen), Nashville (Peggy Kenter), According to Jim (Dana), The 10th Kingdom (Virginia Lewis), Relativity (Isabel Lukens), and in the Father of the Bride films with Steve Martin and Diane Keaton (daughter Annie Banks), among others. Fun facts: Williams-Paisley is married to country singer Brad Paisley, and she’s the sister of actress Ashley Williams (Jim’s wife Jeannie on The Jim Gaffigan Show). The Christmas Train premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, November 25 at 8pm.
