Project Runway is back for Season 16. And the first challenge is a grand one. On the season premiere episode “One Size Does Not Fit All,” the 16 contestants must create a red-carpet look. The twist: the designers work with models of all sizes (from sizes 2 to 22). After the designs are presented on the runway, the judges — Heidi Klum, Zac Posen, Nina Garcia and guest judge actress Olivia Munn gush over designer Kenya Freeman’s white strapless mermaid gown — with pockets! Posen called the dress “white hot.”
[Remember Munn as newscaster Sloane on The Newsroom?]
Munn said she loves the pockets and elaborated: “I’m always awkward on the red carpet because I never know what to do with my hands, or my face. But having the pockets made [the dress] look a little more youthful and fresh.” P.S. It doesn’t look like Munn ever has problems striking a pose on the red carpet (see photo below of her at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) gala. Project Runway airs Thursdays at 8pm on Lifetime.
